  1. The honey bee is the only insect that produces food eaten by man.
  2. Out of 20,000 species of bee, only four make honey.
  3. The bees’ stomach is the size of the head of a pin, to fill this once the bee may need to visit 1,000 flowers.
  4. Honey bees visit about 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey.

  11. Honey bees communicate through movements called a waggle dance to tell each other where to find good sources of food.
  12. Honey bees have 5 eyes.
